License Server Deprecation Notice: Wowza Media Server 2.x.x, 3.x.x and Wowza Streaming Engine 4.0.0 to 4.0.5

    Due to the age of our legacy licensing servers, we must shut them down by the end of this year (12/31/2023). 

    Wowza Media Server 2.x.x, 3.x.x and Wowza Streaming Engine 4.0.0 to 4.0.5 will only be impacted if the server does not already have DNS available. 

    This change must be completed by December 31st, 2023 to continue using these versions of Wowza Media Server and Wowza Streaming Engine. 

    To verify that your Wowza server has DNS configured properly, run the command below to confirm you see the Wowza domains and IP's:

    Linux: dig wowzalicense-all.wowzamedia.com
    Windows: nslookup wowzalicense-all.wowzamedia.com

Wowza Video Stream Targets CDN Playback Failure - Seeing 403 Responses for HLS & DASH

    We identified the issue and deployed a fix. If you still have issues with playback from the Belgium, Germany, or Ireland transcoder regions, please open a new support case for investigation. Thank you!

    We have identified an issue with Wowza Video stream targets experiencing HLS & DASH playback failure from Wowza CDN.

    When trying to play streams, players will fail with a HTTP 403 Responses.

    We would like to inform you of an emergency maintenance window for our video streaming services. This maintenance will include the deployment of critical security patches within the infrastructure.

    Date: October 30, 2023
    Time: 2:15pm Mountain
    Duration: 10-15 minutes

    Impact: During this maintenance window, our Wowza Video and ClearCaster services will be intermittently unavailable. Additionally, any API activity and UI access will be impacted.

    What You Need to Do:

    • Please be aware of this maintenance window.
    • Save any ongoing work and avoid starting new streaming sessions close to the maintenance start time.
    • Monitor our status page for updates on the maintenance progress.

Facebook Business Pages are Down

    We have moved this Wowza Streaming Engine Facebook pages stream target issue to our known issues:

    Within there is steps to take on the workaround to publish to Facebook pages.

    *Personal timelines are not effected.

    We will diligently work through this to add to a near term release.
